Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS)

Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) is a comprehensive health and allied sciences higher-learning public institution.

The aim of the university is to impart knowledge and produce transferable skills through teaching and learning, research, consultancy, and application of knowledge, skills, and aptitudes to meet the professional needs of society at national, regional, and global levels. The university specifically trains health professionals such as nurses, midwives, medical doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, and biomedical scientists/lab technologists at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Ministry of Health (MoH)

Established in 2016, the Quality Management Directorate plays a central role in strategic leadership, quality management and improvement initiatives across the health sector in Malawi.

There are three main pillars of its governance; standards and norms, monitoring and evaluation and quality improvement that envisions achieving the goal of improving health status, increased patient satisfaction and financial risk protection.

Germany Partners

Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS)

The Friede Springer Endowed Professorship is the first professorship for global child health in Germany and has been active at Witten/Herdecke University since 2017. The professorship contributes to scientific research in child healthcare and comprehensive global child health and opens up international perspectives.

 UW/H is a private, state-recognized, non-profit university in Witten, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and has offered degree programs in the fields of medicine, dentistry, psychology, nursing, economics, politics, and society for more than 30 years. The central values of the UW/H – “encouraging freedom”, “striving for truth,” and “promoting social responsibility” – form the core of its identity.
